Outcomes Framework - Select a Scale
Most scales in the Mirah platform can be analyzed using the Outcomes Framework, at least to some degree. The specific scales of interest in any given organization or specific use case, will depend on a number of factors:
- Treatment episode model and goals of intervention (eg: desired outcomes for an eating disorder program may look very different than a coaching program for individuals in recovery from substance use disorders).
- Requirements for reporting set by external stakeholders (payers, grant requirements, state regulatory bodies, or accreditation bodies).
- Generally accepted (eg: well-known) measurements within the field of practice (eg: PHQ-9 is the most commonly-utilized measure for depression in adults, and outcomes on this scale may therefore increase the impact for specific audiences).
- Different measurement scales will allow for different types of outcomes analysis. By virtue of the psychometric properties of the scales, some measurements may be better suited to demonstrating outcomes than others (see below for more details on this topic).
To select a scale for the metric, scroll to the Choose a scale section and click the Scale dropdown. The scale you choose will influence the metrics that are available to you.
Once you choose a scale, you will see details on what the scale supports:
There are three major categories:
- The scale can be a Numerical Scale or a Categorical Scale.
- The scale can support Clinical Severity Categories.
- The scale can support Trend in Treatment Episode.
Depending on what the scale supports, some options may be unavailable.
