Collaborative Care - End of Month Report for Care Managers
It is recommended that supervisors use the Billing Insights report to generate an “end of the month” report which will guide care managers towards the most efficient use of their time at the end of each billing month.
Reminder: Behavioral Health Care Managers (BHCMs) who are not superusers (which most are not) do not currently have access to this tool on the Mirah platform. In order for BHCMs to use their time efficiently and maximize appropriate billing for services rendered, it is essential that supervisors share the report with care managers on a monthly basis prior to the end of each billing cycle.
Best practice guidelines for supervisors:
- Download the report (instructions below) about 5 business days before the end of the month
- Share the report with each behavioral health care manager (BHCM)
- Encourage BHCMs to focus on the items at the top of their list, which will ensure the most efficient use of their time at the end of the month
- Re-generate the report 1-2 days before the end of the billing month, if needed, to provide updated guidance for BHCMs
How to generate the End of the Month Report for BHCMs
- Use the menu on the top right corner and select Billing Insights
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen where you will see a list of all currently enrolled patients. Use the filter at the bottom of the screen to include up to 100 rows per page.
- Click on the button for Columns on the top left corner of this section of the page. Use the checkboxes to select the columns you would like to include in the report. Minimally, we recommend including:
- Patient name
- Care Manager
- Month
- Minutes
- Current billing codes
- $ Impact to Next
- Required Steps to Next
- Next Billing Codes
- Sort the columns by $ Impact so that the items with highest impact (icon with three green bars) are at the top).
- Click on the button for Export and select “Download as CSV”. This will download a .csv file which can be opened in Excel or Google sheets. If desired, the CSV file can be filtered by BHCM before sending so that each BHCM receives a report for only their assigned caseload.
