Configuring Mirah Tablets
Mirah Tablet Configuration Instructions
This guide includes all instructions necessary to set-up and configure your Mirah Tablet and the Kiosk Software.

Mirah Recommendations
The following are recommendations for tablet, kiosk software and tablet protective cases:

Generate the Kiosk Software QR code, Mirah url, Wifi Settings
If you you have purchased the recommended Kiosk software please follow the below steps to set it up. If not, please consult the Kiosk software recommendations for set up.
- On a computer (not the tablet), type the following address into the web browser to access the Kiosk software: https://www.android-kiosk.com/qrcodegenerator.htm
- Change the Locale from “GB” to “US"
- Enter the Kiosk software Licence Key: [XXXXXX]
- Change the Kiosk Url to https://[customer name].mirah.com/patient/welcome
- Click the ‘Configure WiFi?’ button and input WiFi settings to be used during tablet configuration
- Note: Leave the Config Url (JSON for automatic configuration)" and "Registration Key (remote management only - 5 characters)" fields blank
- Save the QR code in a secure location on your computer / cloud so that it can be used for future use
- Note: You will use this QR code for all tablets
Tablet Configuration
Once you have generated the QR code for your kiosk software, set up the tablets:
- Plug in power cord to charging unit and begin charging tablet until fully charged
- (Note: tablets are typically shipped with at least a 50% charge to start)
- Start tablet per manufacturer instructions
- Note: It is recommended to set the 4 digit code password for your tablet via the following: create the password by converting to the respective phone number of the first 4 letters of your customer site (e.g. Mirah becomes 6472: M = 6, i = 4, r = 7 and a = 2)
- Connect to wifi so that you are able to access the internet
- Once you are connected to the internet, open the tablet camera as if you are going to take a picture
- Scan the Kiosk software QR code on your computer with the camera
- Click on the pop-up box to be redirected to the kiosk link
- Select the Next button in the bottom right corner of the screen and you will spend several seconds on the screen “Getting ready for work setup…”
- Select the Accept & continue button
- Select the Next button for the “This device isn’t private” screen
- For Google Services, *de-select* the following settings already selected:
- Use location
- Send usage and diagnostic data
- Click the “Accept” button
- Click the button that states “I have read and agree to all of the above” at bottom of screen and click the Next button
- You will see a green Kiosk screen with “Permissions Required” at the top of it that will walk you through the permissions required for the kiosk. After each of the system prompts, press the ‘back’ arrow’ button ( < ) at the bottom right of the screen (NOT the back arrow at the top left of the screen) to go back to the kiosk setup main page.
- Select the arrow icon at the bottom right of the screen and allow all the security prompts,
- Kiosk Browser - Select “Allow permission”
- Time Zone - Set the time zone in which the site for that tablet is located
- The final page will ask about a Google account - SKIP this step for now
Kiosk Software Configuration
- You should find yourself in the kiosk looking at the Mirah Welcome screen
- Press the vertical three dots at the top right of the screen, and go to Settings. Enter the Default Password of 0000
- Make the following Settings changes:
- General -> Kiosk Title = Mirah
- Display -> Lock Screen OrientationOn,
- Display -> Orientation set to Portrait
- Toolbar ->Back and Forward icons, TURN OFF
- Admin -> Settings Password. Set to the 4 digit code created by the phone number of the first 4 letters of your customer site (e.g. Mirah becomes 6472) - see Tablet Configuration, step 2
- Press the gear (wheel-like) icon in the top right, and select General Management -> Language and input -> On-screen keyboard -> [Brand] Keyboard -> Smart typing and disablePredictive text
- Note: step c above is important to preserve patient confidentiality (do not skip)
- Press the square button at the bottom of the screen to return to the Home screen
- Ensure that the Mirah patient / client kiosk screen loads on the screen, saying ‘Welcome’
Setting Up A Google Account
In order to receive the necessary automatic security updates, you will need a Google account. You only need one account for all of your tablets. If you do not have one, you can create one at https://accounts.google.com/signup/v2/webcreateaccount.
- Press the three small vertical dots icon in the top right corner
- Select Settings, then enter the tablet password
- Press the gear (wheel-like) icon in the top right corner to access System Settings
- Select Google Settings, then press the Sign in to your Google Account button, and log in with the Google account you have either just created or already have
- Follow the instructions at https://bit.ly/2JzeqYU to enable automatic application updates
- Press the home button at the bottom of the screen when done to reset to Kiosk mode
- Turn off the device by pressing the three vertical three dots at the top right of the screen, enter the new password, then press the power button. Select the Power Off icon and then select it again once prompted to confirm
Mirah Table Maintenance & Frequently Asked Questions
Nightly Maintenance
Tablets will need to be charged every night. We recommend you make this task part of your front desk staff’s procedures and perform it at the end of the day. Before charging, turn off the tablet, making sure you are in Kiosk mode (usually this is performed by pressing and holding the power button down for a few seconds). The Mirah platform will automatically perform any needed updates.
Monthly Maintenance
Ensure that you have updated to the most recent version of the operating system:
- Press the three small vertical dots icon in the top right corner
- Select Settings, then enter the password (see below)
- Scroll down from the top of the screen to access Notifications
- If there are any notifications for System or Application updates, accept them and follow the instructions
- When done, press the home button at the bottom of the screen to return to Kiosk mode
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I turn off or restart the device?
A: You must be in Admin. mode to turn off or restart the device. To do this, press the three small vertical dots icon in the top right corner and select ‘Settings’, then enter the password. Once on the Admin. screen, hold the power button and you will be able to select ‘power off’ or ‘restart’
Q: Why don’t some of the hardware buttons work?
A: They are disabled by the kiosk software to stop patients using the tablet for other purposes
Q: How do I make changes to system settings?
A: Press the three small vertical dots icon in the top right corner and select ‘Settings’, then press the gear (wheel-like) icon in the top right corner to adjust the various settings available
